Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg, Ph.D., the 2009-2013 Kansas Poet Laureate, will read and share her journey of writing Miriam's Well. Her book is a "modern day retelling of the Exodus, where Miriam wanders the political and spiritual desert of a changing America, torn between her roots as the Jewish daughter of a Black father and white mother, her yearning for home, and her brothers Aaron and Moses."
Author of two dozen books, a memoir, and poetry collections, Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg founded Transformative Language Arts at Goddard College, teaches, and leads writing workshops, particularly for people living with serious illness and their caregivers. With singer Kelley Hunt, she co-leads writing and singing retreats. She will have books available for purchase and signing.
